Georgina Wootten (Miss G) - Principal
Miss G (Miss Georgina Wootten) founded her School in September 2009. She has performed in a number of professionally produced stage shows and also performed in the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games as Annie Lennox’s backing dancer. Miss G trained at The dance College Teaching Training Centre under the guidance and direction of ISTD Fellow and Examiner Miss Penny Meekings to receive her CDE qualifications in Imperial Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap and National Dance. Miss G received Distinctions for all her Advanced 2 Level Examinations. In 2015, she graduated from the 2 year Level 6 Dance Pedagogy course, and in 2017 she achieved her Imperial Classical Ballet Licentiate – making her the most qualified ISTD teacher in the local area in both Royston, Hertfordshire and Tiptree, Essex. Miss G is exceptionally passionate about her School and hopes her love, dedication and enthusiasm will continue to help students to have fantastic experiences and opportunities. Miss G was asked to go to Shanghai and Beijing back in October 2017 for six weeks to work on a production of Sleeping Beauty at a top ballet school, CISCA (Conservatory for International Style and Cultural Arts). This was an incredible opportunity and she was extremely honoured to have received this amazing invitation. She was excited to work alongside these exceptional professionals, learn huge amounts and bring her new-found knowledge home to share with the students of Miss G’s. She then returned to Shanghai in April 2018 where she was the judge of CISCA’s ‘iDance’ Competition for their Pre–Competitive Section with the famous Derek Deane as Judge for the Competitive Section. Miss G spent the 4 weeks out there teaching ISTD Modern Theatre and Tap Dance for Shanghai’s first set of ISTD Examinations as well choreographing for CISCA’s trip to the American Dance Awards where her students choreography won Gold for a Contemporary Solo which Miss G had created for her. Miss G’s passion for teaching young people is the driving force behind her Academy with past and present students continuing to appear in theatre, television and film productions and be successful in their auditions for full time dance colleges.
